INCEC Awards & Scholarships
The Indiana Council for Exceptional Children (INCEC) recognizes outstanding educators, leaders, advocates, and students each year at our annual conference, Beyond Barriers: Educating Exceptional Children.

Awards
Distinctive Service of the Year Award
Honors an individual, organization, or agency that has made outstanding contributions to children with exceptionalities or to the mission of INCEC.
Outstanding Administrator of the Year
Recognizes an administrator who demonstrates exceptional leadership, advocacy, and commitment to advancing opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Outstanding Advocate of the Year
Honors a business, organization, agency, or individual who has provided exceptional advocacy or public education in support of individuals with exceptional needs.
Outstanding Professor of the Year
Recognizes a professor who demonstrates excellence in preparing future educators and inspiring students and colleagues in the field of special education.
Outstanding Student Chapter Advisor Award
Honors a college or university CEC Student Chapter Advisor who demonstrates exceptional commitment to student engagement and professional growth.
Outstanding CEC Student Member of the Year
Recognizes undergraduate and graduate CEC student members who demonstrate leadership, service, and dedication to children and youth with exceptionalities.
Paraeducator of the Year Award
Honors a paraeducator who exemplifies excellence, dedication, and meaningful impact in supporting students with exceptionalities.
Special Educator Rising Star Award
Recognizes a special education teacher in their first five years of service who demonstrates exceptional potential for leadership, impact, and service.
Teacher of the Year Award
Honors an outstanding special education teacher whose work reflects excellence in instruction, professional growth, and positive student outcomes.
YES, I CAN! Student Award
Celebrates children and youth ages 3–21 with exceptionalities for achievements in academics, the arts, leadership, self-advocacy, technology, or transition
Scholarships
Dr. Michael Livovich Servant Leader Scholarship
Awarded to a CEC member or student member pursuing further education or licensure in special education who demonstrates a strong commitment to servant leadership and advocacy for individuals with exceptionalities.
Dr. William Littlejohn Scholarship
Awarded to an undergraduate student pursuing licensure in special education in Indiana who exemplifies dedication to high professional standards and is currently student teaching.
